10:30 AM - Meeting with the chemo nurse @ UCSF for blood draw.
12:00 PM - Meeting with Dr. Chien @ UCSF - The MRI results were very positive. One tumor shrunk considerably and the second tumor showed slight shrinkage. Everyone at the clinic was pleased with the results. The unpleasant reaction that Page had to the Neulasta has subsided and the decision was made to continue with the chemo but to go back to the Neupogen instead of the Neulasta after the chemo sessions. This will require that Page gets eight shots of the Neupogen over the next week plus. She is being quite brave about this as she has a deadly fear of needles. (Her mom told her of the time when Page's great-grandmother took baby Page to the doctor to get a shot and when great-grandmother turned around Page was out the door and running down the hall in her birthday suit.) After this week there will be just one more chemo session and then she will get some time off before surgery in May.
1:00 PM - Meeting with the chemo nurse @ UCSF for the third infusion of A/C
10:40 AM - Meeting with the chemo nurse @ UCSF for blood draw.
12:00 PM - Meeting with Dr. Chien @ UCSF - Blood work was normal and they proceeded to the last of the infusions.
2:20 PM - Meeting with the chemo nurse @ UCSF for the last infusion of AC
No more chemo!
This last week has had a cumulative build-up effect from the AC causing Page to suffer from body aches and extreme tiredness. But the 28th was the last shot of the neupogen and we expect the unpleasant symptoms to subside over the next few days.
